IT Employment Continues Steady Rise

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The number of IT jobs grew 0.2 percent sequentially last month to 5,013,900, according to TechServe Alliance, the national trade association of the IT & Engineering Staffing and Solutions industry. On a year-over-year basis, IT employment has grown by 3.9% since November 2014 adding 187,300 IT workers.

The rate of engineering job growth continues to be modest, up only 0.1 percent sequentially to 2,532,000.  On a year-over-year basis, engineering employment has grown by 0.8% since November 2014 adding 20,500 engineering workers.

"While not as robust as earlier in the year, IT employment continued its steady climb in November.  This follows October where IT jobs crossed the important milestone of 5 million jobs for the first time," stated Mark Roberts, CEO of TechServe Alliance. "As it has for most of 2015, engineering job growth continues to be anemic," added Roberts.
