IT and Engineering Employment Continue Growth Trajectory in December

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The number of IT jobs grew 0.1 percent sequentially last month to 4,708,700, according to TechServe Alliance, the national trade association of the IT & Engineering Staffing and Solutions industry. On a year-over-year basis, IT employment has grown by 3.1% since December 2013 adding 139,400 IT workers.

Engineering job growth strengthened in December, up 0.1 percent sequentially to 2,528,900.  On a year-over-year basis, engineering employment has grown by 2.1% since December 2013 adding 52,600 engineering workers.

"IT and engineering employment continued its steady climb in December.  With December's positive numbers, we have now had 57 consecutive months of IT growth---an impressive statistic to be sure," stated Mark Roberts, CEO of TechServe Alliance.
