ISUZU and Teletrac Partner to Deliver Advanced GPS and Vehicle Tracking Technology for ISUZU N-Series Trucks
Teletrac's Fleet Director™ Helps Fleet Managers Improve Safety, Control Costs, Mitigate Risks and Ensure CSA 2010 Compliance
GARDEN GROVE, Calif., May 2, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Teletrac, a leading provider of advanced fleet management solutions, today announced that its flagship solution, Fleet Director™, has been selected by Isuzu Commercial Truck of America, Inc., distributor of America's best-selling low-cab-forward trucks, for its 2011 and 2012 model year N-Series customers.
Offered as an option, Fleet Director locates, tracks and monitors the position and operation of fleet vehicles. This provides fleet managers greater visibility into operations to deliver cost saving efficiencies such as lower fuel consumption, real-time tracking of vehicles from the desktop, automatic route guidance, and detailed reporting for advanced decision support and efficient regulatory compliance.
With the most recent release of Fleet Director earlier this year, Teletrac has brought to market several technology breakthroughs utilizing real-time data and online analytics for improving safety and vehicle monitoring. Fleet Director 8.2 gives managers flexible "at-a-glance" dashboards and safety scorecards to help monitor driving behavior and safety performance for individual drivers, user-defined groups of vehicles (subfleets) and the fleet as a whole.
Fleet Director 8.2 delivers these analytics in real time using comprehensive, up-to-the-minute data captured by Teletrac. As a result, managers can monitor and track safety performance in real time, 24/7 using any Web browser. Critical safety indicators include speeding miles, severe speeding miles, harsh braking events, harsh acceleration events, bad cornering events, and more.
Fleet Director 8.2 safety analytics add a new dimension to Fleet Director's long list of proven cost-saving benefits, from fuel savings to overtime reduction. Some Teletrac customers also report that underwriters reduced their vehicle insurance premiums after deployment of Fleet Director vehicle and driver safety monitoring.
Further, comprehensive vehicle diagnostics including diagnostic trouble code (DTC) reporting, lets users measure and manage the wellness of their ISUZU fleets — almost like having a "virtual mechanic" in-cab. Teletrac and Isuzu commercial truck of America, Inc., have developed the ability to monitor and report on a multitude of proprietary vehicle and engine operating data parameters. This offers Isuzu N-Series truck customers the most accurate vehicle performance and monitoring system available in the industry today.
Fleet Director will be offered for 2011 and 2012 NPR-HD, NQR and NRR models beginning in May 2011. It will be available as either a port- or dealer-installed option and includes a three-year, unlimited-mileage limited warranty.
Availability for 2011 and 2012 NPR ECO-MAX and 2012 N-Gas models will be announced at a later date.
"Safety is no longer just a cost center and compliance issue," said Teletrac executive vice president, Drew Hamilton. "For many fleets, it's now a strategic business priority to help trim costs and boost efficiency. For this reason, Teletrac captures the industry's widest range of safety-related vehicle and driver data, making this information more useful and actionable in real time — to help fleet managers increase bottom-line safety performance, and improve fleet operations overall, " said Hamilton.
"We are extremely proud to have been selected by Isuzu commercial truck of America, Inc., to help their fleet customers increase bottom-line safety performance and improve fleet operations overall."
