iSpecimen Appoints Eric Langlois as Vice President of Sales and Business Development
Senior Management Team Expands as Company Experiences Continued Growth and Expansion
LEXINGTON, Mass., June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- iSpecimen®, a trusted source of customized human biospecimen collections, today announced the appointment of Eric Langlois to the position of Vice President of Sales and Business Development. In this role, Eric will be responsible for driving company sales as the firm offers a broader range of biospecimens to the scientific community, including biofluids, solid tissue, and viable cells, all paired with de-identified patient- and specimen-level data to meet researcher needs.
"As personalized medicine surges on biomedical research becomes more targeted, particularly at the molecular level," said Chris Ianelli, MD, PhD, CEO, iSpecimen. "The life science field is exploding with opportunity to learn, to create, and to diagnose and treat disease. Data-rich human biospecimens are a critical piece in this process and with the evolving sets of researcher needs, as well as our expanded offerings, it was time to add a senior leader dedicated to the sales and business development effort. We are seeing increasingly complex requests, particularly for the latest techniques in cancer research, and because of this have also expanded our operations and laboratory staff. Eric is now working with them directly to ensure we are serving researchers as efficiently as we can, with customized procurement and outstanding service."
With nearly 20 years of experience in sales and business development for preclinical sample collections in translational research, most recently as Head of North American Sales for the ReproCell Group, Eric is playing a key role not only in expanding the iSpecimen researcher customer base, but also in analyzing and developing the supply partner network in order to meet customer demands. iSpecimen launched the latest iteration of its technology last year, and the company continues to add a diverse range of supply partner sites to its network. Initially working with hospitals and commercial labs, iSpecimen's network now also includes blood centers, biorepositories, Health Information Exchanges, Contract Research Organizations, and cancer centers.
"iSpecimen's technology enables a more strategic and orderly form of specimen procurement," said Eric. "The company's cloud-based software was a critical reason for my joining the team. I'm excited to be part of a company that is leading change in the industry, and streamlining what has long been an arduous and quality-challenged process. I look forward to working with iSpecimen to continue advancing research."
