The I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification mandate can result in fines for employers by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), an agency within the Department of Homeland Security. When an employer receives an I-9 notice of inspection, some of the items they will need to provide include original I-9 forms, employee data and wage and hour reports, all accessible within iSolved. Employer mistakes such as using the wrong form, failing to date and sign the form and not providing complete information are common. Recordkeeping errors can cost employers $110 for each missing item on an I-9 form.

Employers must retain completed I-9s for the entirety of an employee's employment.
