Isolux Corsan Awarded the Construction of a Road in Mexico

- The "Bypass west of Acapulco" road, located in the state of Guerrero, will be 11 kilometers long
- The project, awarded by the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation, has a budget of 35.8 million Euros
Isolux Corsán has been awarded the contract for the construction of a highway in Mexico.
The Highway, "Bypass Poniente Acapulco", is located in the state of Guerrero and will have a length of 11 kilometers and a section of 21 meters, comprising 5 structures.
In addition, the project also includes carrying out the work of earthworks, drainage structures, bridges or additional works such as vertical and horizontal signaling.
The project has been awarded by the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation and has a budget of 35.8 million euros and an execution time of one year and nine months.
This road will enable to communicate existing Cuernavaca - Acapulco highway with the federal Acapulco - Zihuatanejo highway, which will allow to avoid traffic passing through the urban area of Acapulco.
Consolidating its presence in Mexico
This project confirms the presence of Isolux Corsán in Mexico, where the company currently manages two highway concessions, Saltillo-Monterrey and Saltillo North and Perote-Xalapa Banderilla and Libramiento, with 95 and 60 kilometers in length respectively, for a period of 45 years. In addition the company has executed a section of the Campeche - Mérida highway also awarded by the SCT.
In the energy sector, Isolux Corsán has long track record in the construction and installation of transmission lines and substations. The Group has built more than 5,000 km of transmission lines and 50 substations in Mexico over the last few years.
In Baja California, the company has built the 280 MW combined cycle power plant in Rosarito. The company is currently undertaking the revamping of units 1 and 2 of the Central Thermoelectric plant Altamira in Tamaulipas state in Mexico, amounting to $380 million. The Group has extensive experience in this type of projects. It has also made improvements in the coal-fired plant Thermoelectric Power Plant "President Plutarco Elías Calles" in the state of Guerrero.
