DALLAS, Dec. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ISN has released its third annual U.S. Health & Safety Performance Indicators publication series. With data aggregated from over eight billion U.S. work hours of activity reported in 2013 within its online contractor management platform, ISNetworld, this three-part series provides contractor health and safety key performance indicator (KPI) statistics.
The Contractor Performance Benchmarking by Hiring Clients, U.S. publication is available in two industry specific volumes: Oil & Gas, Utilities & Power Generation and Manufacturing, Mining, Chemicals & Facilities Management. The KPIs presented within the reports include total recordable incident rate (TRIR), days away, restricted or job transfer rate (DART), lost time case rate (LTC), fatality rate, injury and illness severity (in days) and experience modifier. This information helps hiring organizations benchmark how their contractors' health and safety performance compares to that of their industry peers.
"Hiring organizations can leverage this data as a tool to help establish an objective baseline for their contractor performance targets year after year," said Dag Yemenu, ISN Vice President of Technical & Customer Services. "With this, hiring organizations are able to evaluate their contractor selection and management strategies to build upon existing practices."
The second publication within this series, Contractor Performance Benchmarking by Industry Classifications & Work Types, U.S., delivers pertinent health and safety performance indicator information useful for benchmarking a contractor's performance against its industry peers. The KPIs featured within this publication include: TRIR, nonfatal TRIR, DART, fatality rate, total number of fatalities and incident severity (in days). These KPIs are grouped by North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and ISN Work Types for added granularity.
"Performance data continues to be a leading factor in operational assessments and hiring decisions," said Joseph Eastin, ISN President & CEO. "The statistics and insight offered within these publications aid companies in recognizing areas of improvement to mitigate risk and potential losses."
