Islamic Relief USA Launches Campaign to Provide Aid to Japan
WASHINGTON, March 15, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Islamic Relief USA has launched an emergency appeal to donors to aid survivors of Japan's earthquake and tsunami disasters. Strong aftershocks continue to rock Japan, days after the biggest earthquake in the island nation's recorded history, a magnitude 9.0 quake, ravaged its northeastern coast on Friday. An ensuing tsunami has flooded cities, stranded families, and wreaked havoc on the country's infrastructure.
More than 300,000 remain displaced with no electricity, food, water or gas. Tens of thousands are feared dead, and thousands are still missing. Islamic Relief USA is raising funds to provide needed aid to those affected by these natural disasters.
