Islamic Center of Detroit Adds Special Iftars to Its Daily Lineup for Ramadan 2019
DETROIT, May 3, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Islamic Center of Detroit (ICD) announces holding a first-ever series of special community-based programs to join its lineup of daily iftars during the observation of Ramadan, May 6 - June 3, 2019.
In addition to hosting free daily iftars at the mosque, the center is planning special iftars with the following groups, organizations or themes on the designated evenings:

The center at 14350 Tireman Avenue in Detroit, welcomes community residents to join mosque members and other community constituents every night, at sunset, throughout Ramadan, for a free meal. These special iftars, which are meant to honor and support the Islamic community's partnerships, state and local law enforcement, and other outstanding members of Metro Detroit, will be open to the community for free.
"As the holy month of Ramadan is taking place, Muslims all over the world use this month to focus on their spirituality," ICD Executive Director Sufian Nabhan said. "We find many ways to increase our service to God," he continued. "One of the most satisfying rewards is feeding the less fortunate in our community, each night during Ramadan, over 200 families are our guests at this most worthy demonstration of man's love and caring for other fellow human beings," Nabhan added.
