iSend Wins New Media/Internet/Telecom Category for Connecticut Technology Council's 2014 Marcum Tech Top 40
Revenue Growth of 675 Percent Helps Propel Company
MIDDLEBURY, Conn., Oct. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- For the second consecutive year, iSend has been named as the winner in the New Media/Internet/Telecom category of the Marcum Tech Top 40, an annual compilation of the 40 fastest growing technology companies in Connecticut as determined by The Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) and Marcum LLP.
Selection was based on the percentage revenue growth over the last four years. This is the third consecutive year iSend has made the Marcum Tech Top 40. iSend was named Connecticut's fastest growing technology company overall in 2012.
iSend's president and CEO, Steve LaBella, points to the growing, and underserved, population of immigrants who leave their birth countries, but who still have responsibilities to assist and support family members back home as one of the main reasons for the company's continued revenue growth.
"Our brand's promise is to help make life easier for immigrants and their families," said LaBella. "Everyone involved with the development, delivery and support of our international electronic payment services―from our partners to our staff―works tirelessly to live up to that promise, and it shows in the growth and success iSend continues to have. We are proud to represent the local Connecticut business community on an international level."
This year's Marcum Tech Top 40 identified the fastest growing Connecticut companies in the categories of Advanced Manufacturing, Energy/Environment/Green Technology, IT Services, Life Sciences, New Media/Internet/Telecom and Software. Awards were presented to each category's top performer in terms of percentage revenue growth over the years 2010–2013, during which iSend realized 675 percent growth.
The Marcum Tech Top 40, now in its eighth year, recognizes technology leaders with at least $3 million in annual revenue and a four-year record of growth, in six industry sectors. Both privately held and publicly traded companies are eligible.
