(ISC)2 to Honor Top U.S. Government Cybersecurity Professionals with Information Security Leadership Awards 2019
Nominations now open for sixteenth annual Information Security Leadership Awards Government
CLEARWATER, Fla., Dec. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- (ISC)² today announced it has opened nominations for its 2019 Information Security Leadership Awards (ISLA®) Government. The ISLA Government program was established in 2004 as part of (ISC)²'s effort to recognize government information security leaders whose commitment to excellence is helping to improve government information security and to advance an in-demand workforce. (ISC)² – representing some of the world's most experienced and accomplished cybersecurity professionals – will recognize the 2019 ISLA Government winners at a live awards ceremony.
ISLA Government awards are given in several categories to recognize individuals whose initiatives in the areas of technology improvement, process/policy improvement, workforce improvement and an up-and-coming information security professional have led to significant developments in the security posture of a department, agency or the entire U.S. government. Awards are also given for outstanding team projects in the areas of community awareness and industry partnership.
"These awards give us a chance to honor the unsung heroes who protect and defend our most vital national information assets, networks, systems and critical infrastructure," said Brian Correia, managing director, North America, (ISC)². "As we try to attract new talent to our profession, it's important that we highlight and celebrate the truly outstanding work being done by U.S. government cybersecurity professionals and show everyone the great achievements taking place."
To nominate a candidate (submissions are made by peers) for ISLA Government, please visit the nomination page and complete the submission form. (ISC)2 membership is not a prerequisite for nominators or nominees. The submission deadline is February 8, 2019.
A nominations committee comprised of senior information security experts from government agencies and private enterprises will review and select winners from the six categories of finalists based upon the selection criteria and eligibility requirements.
