(ISC)2® Opens Nominations for Seventh Annual Americas Information Security Leadership Awards
ISLA® Program Recognizes Industry Workforce Improvements of Leaders and Professionals from Central, North and South America
CLEARWATER, Fla., May 8, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- (ISC)2® ("ISC-squared") today announced it is now accepting nominations for its seventh annual Americas Information Security Leadership Awards (ISLA) program. To nominate an information security professional, please visit http://congress.isc2.org/d/fvqzc6/6K.
Part of the (ISC)2 Global Awards program, the Americas ISLAs recognize information security workforce improvements, projects and initiatives throughout the private and public sectors through the Americas (with the exception of U.S. federal government, which is recognized through the U.S. Government Information Security Leadership Awards) in the following categories:
- Senior Information Security Professional
- Information Security Practitioner
- Up-and-Coming Information Security Professional
- Community Awareness
"Our latest Global Information Security Workforce Study found that a gap of 1.8 million information security professionals will exist by 2022," says David Shearer, CEO, (ISC)2. "This shortage creates an even more compelling reason to recognize those who are excelling despite facing immense challenges. These leaders are committed to elevating the cybersecurity workforce, which in turn enhances the security posture of their organizations. They are also helping to raise security awareness to end users throughout their local communities."
The Americas ISLA Judging Committee will be comprised of members of (ISC)2's North American and Latin American Advisory Councils, past ISLA recipients and other information security industry experts. Each member of the committee will review the nominations, and the collective judges will select one recipient from each category based upon the selection criteria and eligibility requirements.
Nominations for the Americas ISLA program will be accepted through midnight EDT on June 7. (ISC)2 will host a plated luncheon in conjunction with its seventh annual Security Congress to announce and honor the recipients on Sept. 26 at the JW Marriott in Austin.
