(ISC)2 Launches New CISSP® Exam Format to Help Bring More Cybersecurity Professionals into the Field
Computerized Adaptive Testing for CISSP creates more opportunities for exam administration and allows for greater precision in evaluating competency
CLEARWATER, Fla., Dec 19, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- (ISC)²® today announced it has changed the format of its CISSP exam (English version only) from fixed-form, linear to Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT). CAT is the computerized delivery of exam items uniquely tailored to the ability of an individual candidate. CAT's value to candidates includes that it's more efficient, has shorter test administration sessions and is more precise at evaluating competency. Maximum administration time for CISSP CAT is three hours, allowing more opportunities for exam administration.
"This evolution in how we administer our exams is an important investment in the future of our certification programs," said Dr. Casey Marks, VP of professional programs, (ISC)². "The implementation of CAT strengthens (ISC)²'s commitment to meet the critical demand for cybersecurity professionals worldwide by providing a fair, valid, reliable and efficient exam administration process. CAT provides numerous benefits to candidates, including a more precise and efficient evaluation of a candidate's competency, more opportunities for exam administration and shorter test administration sessions."
Effective today, CISSP CAT exams will be available exclusively through Pearson Professional Centers (PPCs) and (ISC)²-authorized Pearson VUE Select Test Centers (PVTC Selects). Current (ISC)²-authorized test centers can be found at: http://www.pearsonvue.com/isc2/locate/.
