In addition online sales for Black Friday are expected to come close at $2.7 billion and online Thanksgiving Day sales are forecasted for $1.6 billion. Both are double digit increases over 2014 of 15 and 18 percent respectively.

In 2014, Black Friday was the more popular online shopping day in the UK with £810 million spent overshadowing the estimated £720 million spent on Cyber Monday. According to IMRG (UK's industry association for e-retail), UK retail websites received a combined total of 181 million visits on Black Friday in 2014.
