Irvine Sensors Opens New Development Office in Dallas, Texas
Growth in Security Sector Fuels Expansion for Irvine Sensors
COSTA MESA, Calif., April 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Irvine Sensors Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: IRSN), a leading provider of security, thermal and laser imaging solutions, announced today it has opened a new development facility in Richardson, Texas. The strategic Central U.S. location and addition of two key team members position the company for expanded focus in the Cyber Security market.
Joining the team are, Jim Deerman as Head of Cyber Engineering and Keith Rhodes, Head of Product Management for the division, each with more than 20 years experience in the design and development of IT security products. Formation of the new team will allow Irvine Sensors to dramatically reduce time to market for a soon to be announced new series of security products.
"We see ongoing demand from our customers and the market for improved Cyber Security products, and we are responding," said Bill Joll, Irvine's President and CEO. "We are very pleased to have Keith and Jim on board as we begin executing on our new vision for the company."
Jim Deerman joins Irvine Sensors from Raytheon, bringing extensive experience in network design and product architecture including low level software design and development. "I am excited about the new technology and building out a new engineering and product development team here in Dallas," said Deerman.
Prior to joining Irvine Sensors, Keith Rhodes led multiple product design and engineering teams in the security space and was most recently the Senior Director of Engineering with Arbor Networks. "Irvine's innovative technology and great people position the company for strong contributions to the Cyber Security industry. I'm excited about our future and happy to be part of the team," said Rhodes.
"Jim's background in both commercial and DoD real world environments afford him a unique perspective which will be a tremendous asset to our team, which combined with Keith's experience leading software development teams forms an unbeatable combination," said Mr. Joll.
Irvine's new office will house the currently forming development team including testing and quality assurance as well as a demonstration facility.
