COSTA MESA, Calif., Nov. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Irvine Sensors Corporation ("ISC") announced today that the company has joined NVIDIA's Metropolis Software Partner Program (MSPP) with its ALERT® real-time video analytics application. The program offers a curated list of applications that make it easy for systems integrators and hardware vendors to build new security solutions.
Using NVIDIA's GPU technologies, ALERT provides advanced tracking, classifying, and problem-solving capabilities needed due to today's increasingly complex threat landscape. ISC is using the latest deep learning techniques for the challenging task of tracking bags left behind in transit and public safety applications. The ALERT system is reaching unprecedented levels of accuracy, enabling the tool to create safer public environments.
"The synergy of technologies at Irvine Sensors, which includes in-depth capabilities in sensor design and manufacture, 3D electronics stacking, and cognitive-based computational sciences, combined with NVIDIA's GPU technology, enables the high-performance of our security products such as ALERT," said John Carson President and CEO, ISC.
Since its origination, ALERT's processing power has been accelerated with the latest NVIDIA GPUs. This has allowed the ALERT product line to overcome the inherent throughput limitations of CPU and traditional edge-based camera processing. The throughput acceleration available with NVIDIA's GPUs has been a key enabler of ALERT's unprecedented levels of interpretative accuracy achieved in various field demonstrations and deployments in mass transit and public safety applications. Irvine Sensors Corporation has relied on NVIDIA Tesla® and other GPU lines as the bedrock of its product capabilities.
