WASHINGTON, March 11, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- As tax deadline day approaches, John Koskinen, commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service, will speak at a March 31 National Press Club luncheon.
The theme of Koskinen's speech is "The IRS: Learning from the Past; Building for the Future." Koskinen will address a number of issues, including Republican efforts to cut the IRS budget and what effect it might have on the agency's customer service and collection efforts.
This will be Koskinen's second appearance at the Club as IRS commissioner. The IRS collects $2.4 trillion in revenue each year, employs 90,000, and has an $11 billion dollar operating budget.
The National Press Club luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. Koskinen's remarks will begin just after 1:00 p.m. and will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
