IronNet Cybersecurity Earns ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certification
Leading Cybersecurity Company Adds Widely Recognized Certification to Expanding Array of Credentials and Capabilities
FULTON, Md., Dec. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- IronNet Cybersecurity, a leading provider of state-of-the art cybersecurity solutions, announced it has been awarded an ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Management System certificate by SRI Quality System Registrar, an internationally accredited registrar for management systems standards.
The ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard is internationally recognized as an authoritative indicator of having a systematic approach to managing sensitive information so that it remains secure. Certification of meeting the standard is often required in contracting requests by companies and government agencies. The standard specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of the organization. It also includes requirements for the assessment and treatment of information security risks tailored to the needs of the organization.
"The mission of IronNet is to provide best-in-class cybersecurity products and services that are second to none, and this new certification is the latest demonstration of that commitment," said George Lamont, IronNet Co-Founder and Chief Information Security Officer. "With this standards certificate, IronNet clients can feel even more confident about our ability to protect their critical information."
IronNet Cybersecurity was founded by Keith Alexander, the former director of the National Security Agency and head of U.S. Cyber Command, along with a team of former leaders of the Defense Department, the National Counterterrorism Center, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, as well as cyber experts from the commercial sector. The IronNet approach leverages high performance computing capabilities to identify threats and to propagate real-time threat and model updates throughout a company's cyber infrastructure and across sector and cross-sector ecosystems, and provides the ability to implement active response actions.
"We are pleased to acknowledge that IronNet Cybersecurity Inc. has demonstrated effective implementation of a management system," said Edward L. Maschmeier, Director, Certification at SRI Quality System Registrar. "ISO/IEC 27001 certification provides evidence to customers, suppliers, employees, and the community of the commitment by IronNet to information security and customer satisfaction."
