CHARLESTON, S.C., Sept. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- U-Haul Companies in South Carolina are offering 30 days of free self-storage and U-Box storage container usage to residents who have been affected by the flooding associated with Hurricane Irma.
Now a tropical storm, Irma has delivered severe flooding to parts of the Palmetto State. Thousands of residents are without power, and water has exceeded the levels seen during Hurricane Matthew last year.
"Many residents have been forced to evacuate and a state of emergency has been declared," said Elijah Mack, U-Haul Company of Coastal South Carolina president.
