IR Magazine: Brazil investor relations awards honor Itau Unibanco and 17 other top companies

SAO PAULO, July 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- IR Magazine has announced the winners of the IR Magazine Awards – Brazil 2014, the 10th annual edition of the prestigious awards that celebrate investor relations (IR) and recognize excellence in transparency and communication with investors.

Itau Unibanco was the night's biggest winner, taking home seven awards, including the grand prix for best overall investor relations (large cap). The list of winners includes other companies that have performed extremely well at the awards over a number of years, such as Kroton (three awards in 2014) and Natura (also three awards). There are also newcomers among the top-ranked companies, including Anima, whose IRO, Leonardo Haddad, won the award for best investor relations officer (small and mid-cap).

The results were decided by a survey of 198 analysts and investors independently conducted by Fundacao Getulio Vargas. The winners were announced last night at a gala awards event in Sao Paulo attended by hundreds of members of the Brazilian IR community.

In addition to the companies that won in the 2014 survey, IR Magazine presented special awards to the companies that have performed best over the 10-year history of the awards: Itau Unibanco ranked number one, followed by Vale at number two and Bradesco at number three. Randon was named the top-performing small or mid-cap company over the last 10 years.
