ip.access Collaborates with Amdocs to Roll-out Global Small Cell Solution for Enterprises
CAMBRIDGE, England, January 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Joint solution enables service providers to enhance and upgrade their networks cost effectively and at a greater speed
ip.access has today announced a global collaboration with Amdocs to simplify and accelerate the operator and enterprise roll-out of small cells, greatly reducing the deployment lead time, cost and resource usually needed for effective small cell roll-out.
The partnership combines ip.access' broad portfolio of indoor small cells, access points and range of performance optimisation tools with Amdocs' Radio-Access-Network (RAN), backhaul deployment orchestration tool and Amdocs' Network Rollout Solution (ANRS) - enabling service providers to enhance and upgrade their networks more effectively and at a greater speed.
"This is an especially exciting global collaboration for us," said Gavin Ray, senior vice president of product and marketing at ip.access. "The partnership will help service providers to deploy small cells in high volumes quickly and smoothly. By using each other's vast range of products and services, and expertise, we will be able to provide customers with an economical enterprise deployment for small cells."
The partnership allows ip.access to introduce Amdocs to ip.access' customers that need support in moving to a volume deployment model. It will also enable Amdocs to introduce ip.access to its customers who need small cell solutions, offering Amdocs as an overall integrator of the solution.
Rebecca Prudhomme, vice president for product and solutions marketing at Amdocs, said: "The agreement with ip.access will not only vastly improve operators' ability to upgrade their networks with greater proficiency and speed, but it also seeks to address the industry-wide issue of rolling out small cell solutions to enterprises in greater volume. Amdocs' Network Rollout solution cuts the time and cost of network deployment by up to 25 per cent*, and accelerates time to market, while reducing the project risk and potential human error that can occur with a small cell roll-out."
* According to Amdocs' internal testing, simulation or test-case deployments. Benefits will vary depending on customer implementation.
