NEW YORK, Nov. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Investopedia Academy, an online education platform that empowers consumers with financial knowledge and practical investing skills, has hired Gordon Scott as Head of Education to further drive its mission. The co-author of "Invest to Win" and former Managing Director of the Chartered Market Technician Program, Scott brings hands-on experience developing and launching successful curriculums and educational programs for the financial services industry.
"Over the course of my career, I've met countless investors, traders, and consumers who craved the kind of education and insight Investopedia Academy is providing," comments Scott. "I joined Investopedia Academy because I fundamentally believe in and am inspired by its driving mission – to empower consumers with financial skills and to democratize access to finance and investing education."
With over ten years of financial education and training experience, Scott will help develop Academy content and education strategy as well as forge new partnerships and distribution channels. Scott was most recently the Managing Director of the CMT Program at the Market Technicians Association, where he led the development of education around technical investment analysis and CMT Exams. Scott also co-authored the book "Invest to Win", which aims to help readers manage their own investments by spending just a few minutes each month on their finances. He also served as a Trading Coach at Beacon Learning Group and was the content manager at Investools, where he developed the online curriculum and oversaw its growth during the Thinkorswim and TD Ameritrade mergers. Scott will report directly to Greg Giusti, GM, Investopedia Academy.
"As we continue to grow Investopedia Academy, bringing in top-notch talent to help lead this transformation of education is critical. Gordon is a seasoned industry veteran with a proven track record of success in creating financial education programs," said Greg Giusti, GM, Investopedia Academy. "We're excited to have Gordon on board as the next 12 months have a lot in store, including unique new courses, adding to our roster of high-profile instructors, and continual improvement of our curriculum content."
