Investment Management Lawyer J.R. Morgan Joins Andrews Kurth

AUSTIN, Texas, April 17, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Andrews Kurth is pleased to announce that investment management lawyer J.R. Morgan has joined the firm as Counsel in its Corporate section.

Mr. Morgan, formerly the founding Partner of Morgan LLP, focuses his practice on representing private fund sponsors in the creation and management of their management companies and in the formation of domestic and international funds, including private equity, venture capital, oil and gas, real estate, private debt and hedge funds. Mr. Morgan also frequently works on related investment management matters such as structuring family offices, co-investment vehicles, managed accounts and "funds of one."

Mr. Morgan began his legal career in the New York office of Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where he handled investment management regulatory and compliance issues, fund formation and fund management. He later joined the London office of Schulte Roth & Zabel International LLP, where he worked on matters as diverse as advising major financial conglomerates and institutional investment managers with global structuring to assisting entrepreneurial start-up managers launch first-time funds. In 2013, Mr. Morgan founded Morgan LLP, which was recently named "Best Boutique Law Firm" in the United States by HFMWeek.
