Investment Gurus Converge at Hult's Second Annual Venture Capital Summit to Roadmap the Future of Innovation
BOSTON, March 22, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Some of the world's most influential venture capitalists will be attending the Hult Venture Capital Summit, which takes place this month at Boston's Museum of Science. Attendees will be able to share business ideas, learn from industry experts, and network with investors – possibly securing funding for their own start-ups in the process.
The summit, organized by graduate students in Hult's Finance and Investment Club, will be chaired by three separate panels, each featuring five or six leading industry figures. The first panel, focused on mobile technology, will include Dave McLaughlin, CEO and founder of Vsnap and Scott Yaphe, general partner at venture capital firm ABS Ventures.
Shining a light on the fast-moving world of education technology, the second panel is set to include Eduventures' CEO Marc Nemec and Colin Barceloux, who started the innovative textbook rental company BookRenter. The third and final panel will focus on global investing, with entrepreneurial speakers from diverse fields like finance, physical sciences and biomedical manufacturing.
In addition to these three panels, the Hult VC Summit will host a series of keynote speakers. Among the speakers will be James Geshwiler, who runs one of the largest venture capital investing networks in northeast America, and Michael Riegel, who is responsible for start-up programs at international computing giant IBM.
"The caliber of speakers appearing at our events is unrivalled, encompassing a wide range of industries," said Hult President Dr. Stephen Hodges. "More than any other business school, we're giving our students the chance to learn from the best and forge lasting connections that help them thrive after graduation."
The event is sponsored by telecommunications firm Verizon, law practice Burns & Levinson LLP, non-profit organization Mass Challenge, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, and Greenhorn Connect, which gives Boston entrepreneurs access to helpful resources.
