Investigations Workshop scheduled for 12th Annual Compliance & Ethics Institute
Investigative skill-building workshop essential to compliance and ethics professionals, Sunday, October 6, 2013, 9 am to 4:30 pm
MINNEAPOLIS, July 31, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics announced today it will offer an Investigations Workshop on Sunday, October 6, 2013, during the 12th Annual Compliance & Ethics Institute pre-conference. Following-up anonymous complaints of wrong-doing and other concerns is a regular part of compliance and ethics officers' workday. When done correctly, it can spotlight issues that need to be addressed or identify misconceptions and misinterpretations and provide an opportunity for education; done wrong and it can harm individuals and the organization.
"Effective investigations are at the heart of effective compliance programs," said SCCE CEO Roy Snell. "They are essential to determining what, if anything, went wrong and how it happened. That's crucial to both correcting the immediate situation and to making sure the problem doesn't reoccur," added Snell.
