Investigation Discovery's Paula Zahn to Recognize Unsung Heroes in the Movement to End Violence Against Women

WASHINGTON, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, April 27, Investigation Discovery, the National Network to End Domestic Violence, the Family Violence Prevention Fund and Women's Policy, Inc. are coming together with Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus for Women's Issues, and Reps. Gwen Moore and Kay Granger, Vice Chairs of the Caucus, to host an event to celebrate unsung heroes working to end violence against women.  

Investigation Discovery's Paula Zahn will give remarks and present awards to individuals who are making a difference in the lives of countless women and children.  Among the award recipients will be Victor Rivers, an actor, activist and author who serves as the spokesperson for the National Network to End Domestic Violence.  Lilada Gee, from Madison, WI, a survivor of domestic violence and Ann Burke, from South Kingston, RI, an outstanding victim advocate will be honored with awards as well.  

Paula Zahn and Investigation Discovery are proud supporters of the Department of Justice's year-long campaign to commemorate the 15^th Anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act by increasing awareness around all issues of violence against women and children.
