ATLANTA, June 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Invesco US announced today that its mobile app for iPad® has been ranked No. 1 among industry peers based on a comprehensive research analysis of leading fund managers worldwide by MyPrivateBanking, an independent research firm that specializes in analyzing digital services provided by financial services firms.
Invesco's app recorded the top score in a broad analysis that evaluated 21 mobile apps from 20 fund managers across the US and Europe. The study was based on 27 different criteria divided into nine categories - availability of mobile app, key information, core functions, support features for clients, social media integration, user friendliness, security, strategy and best practices.
In addition to earning the maximum number of points available for core functions, best practices and integration with other online media, the report also highlighted the overall professionalism of the apps' design and content.
"Ongoing mobile innovation is at the heart of Invesco's digital marketing strategy and this recognition reflects our commitment to build customer relationships with relevant content and experiences in the right place at the right time," said Joanna Irwin, Head of US Marketing. "The Invesco mobile app provides our clients with access to products, insights from our investment professionals and timely investment ideas – on the go. Ultimately, our goal is to make it easy for clients to do business with our firm when, how and where they choose."
Invesco's app earned 41 of a possible 50 points across all nine major categories, underscoring how well the app achieves its strategic purpose.
"This is a real value-adding tool for investors and financial advisors that excels through a peerlessly attractive design and a high level of interactivity," said Francis Groves, Senior Analyst of MyPrivateBanking. "With people's expectations about information delivery and availability increasing in the last few years, fund companies have a great opportunity to make their case for themselves and win new friends. The core function of the Invesco app is remarkably comprehensive and provides for advanced search options as well as outstanding presentation of fund information."
Invesco is among only 10% of fund managers worldwide that offer mobile apps for clients, according to the report.
Launched in 2012, Invesco's free app for iPad is available to retail investors and advisors, featuring such interactive tools as the Intentional Income FinderSM designed to generate a customized list of income strategies to consider and the Portfolio IllustratorSM, providing financial advisors the ability to create custom portfolio proposals for clients.
The app, now in its fifth version with continued enhancements planned for both content and functionality on a quarterly basis, is part of a robust overall digital marketing strategy that highlights Invesco's investment management experts through additional online avenues, including social media (blog, Twitter and LinkedIn).
"Given the changing needs of investors and the ways our clients are choosing to meet them, we remain committed to continuously enhancing our digital properties through a client-centered approach that leverages the advent of compelling new technologies," Mrs. Irwin said.
