PlanForward Foundations to Help Advisors Win DC Business

Recognizing the growing importance of the defined contribution marketplace, and the key role advisors play in that channel, Invesco has expanded its efforts in support of advisors to grow their DC business by helping them provide excellent service to plan sponsors.
Capitalizing on years of DC advisor-focused support offered by both Van Kampen's(1) Targets program and Invesco's PlanForward, Invesco is introducing an improved combination of both programs as PlanForward Foundations. The three toolkits in the sales and marketing system for advisors include "Finding Your Place in the Defined Contribution Market," "Generating Leads and Prospecting" and "Putting Fiduciary Responsibility in Action." The print and Web-based materials and tools cover a variety of details specific to the DC market and selling and servicing DC plans.
"We've created a broad suite of tools specially tailored for investment advisors who provide services to plan sponsors by taking the best of the tools developed by Invesco and Van Kampen," said Terry Kelly, Director of Retirement Sales. "For advisors new to the DC market, these tools and materials provide a foundation to better prepare them to compete for new business. Advisors experienced in the DC channel will find PlanForward Foundations useful for sharpening their skills, providing actionable ideas and tools and training newer members of their teams."
Invesco will introduce PlanForward Foundations to its top recordkeeper and broker/dealer relationships over the coming weeks, as well as to many advisors attending its DC Summit meetings across the country during 2011.
Invesco PlanForward Foundations focuses on 401(k) plans because they represent about two-thirds of the DC market in the private sector, and they are the fastest growing retirement market segment. In addition, new plans are virtually all DC rather than the traditional defined benefit plans.
