HOUSTON, May 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Invesco announced today that the proposed reorganization of Invesco Prime Income Trust (the "Fund") into Invesco Van Kampen Senior Loan Fund has been postponed indefinitely. At the shareholder meeting of April 14, 2011, the Fund was inadvertently reported as having achieved quorum and obtaining sufficient votes to reorganize into Invesco Van Kampen Senior Loan Fund. Invesco intends to recommend to the boards of trustees of the Fund and the Invesco Van Kampen Senior Loan Fund re-soliciting Fund shareholders to approve the reorganization.

The Fund has limited public sales of its shares to new investors, effective as of the opening of business May 9, 2011. All investors who were invested in the Fund as of the close of business on May 6, 2011, and remain invested in the Fund may continue to make additional investments.
