Inventors and Innovators Demonstrate the Future at Smithsonian and USPTO Innovation Festival
WASHINGTON, Sept. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being released by Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
WHAT: A free, two-day Innovation Festival presented by the Smithsonian and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office featuring 13 companies, universities, government agencies and independent inventors.
WHEN: Saturday, Sept. 26

10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
WHERE: Smithsonian's National Museum of American History
Constitution Avenue between 12th and 14th Streets
Thirteen companies, universities, government agencies and independent inventors will animate the museum's new Innovation Wing with inventions and demonstrations. Educational partners also participating include Lego Mindstorms inventors, Washington, D.C.'s Benjamin Banneker Academic High School InvenTeam, the Hagley Museum and Library in Wilmington, Del., Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of Houston and the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum.
The Innovation Festival will feature booths where visitors can meet and exchange ideas with inventors and innovators and opportunities to participate in hands-on activities and attend expert talks. Visitors can see demonstrations of a Braille printer by its teen inventor; discover how brainwaves can control an exoskeleton to help paralyzed people walk and learn how chocolate gets flavored.
