PITTSBURGH, April 13, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- "When my sister was bedridden and needed turned often to prevent bedsores, the caregivers had problems turning her," said an inventor from Wesley, Ark. "I wanted to invent something that would turn patient without causing any more pain and would also make it easier for the caregiver too."
He developed KAREN'S CUSHION to provide users with enhanced comfort. The accessory reduces the formation of pressure ulcers while possibly aiding in healing existing pressure ulcers. It also allows the user to more easily be turned with little effort. This lessens the pain and potential injury to patient. The device prevents caregivers or medical personnel from being injured, especially within their backs or shoulders, due to continually moving a patient as well. Additionally, it could be positioned upon beds within hospitals, nursing facilities, and homes.
The original design was submitted to the Houston sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
