PITTSBURGH, April 8, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- "I used to love in-line skating, but after I became a lower-limb amputee, I had to give it up because I now wear a prosthetic leg," said an inventor from Huntington Beach, Calif. "I came up with this idea so that I could begin in-line skating again"
He created a prototype for the patent-pending ABILITY ROADSTER to enable individuals with prosthetic legs to be more mobile and independent. The unit offers balance and stability while in-line skating, running, walking, etc. It makes it possible to enjoy favorite hobbies once again after a lower-limb amputation. The invention provides enhanced self-esteem and confidence. Additionally, the device reduces the risk of slips and falls, which is designed to enhance personal safety.
The invention also could be offered with a surf-board rack.
The original design was submitted to the Orange County sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
