PITTSBURGH, Feb. 15, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- "I worked in the electrical industry for many years and wanted to create a fuse simulator device for use in the field or in a repair shop that enables you to initiate a test and allow current to pass via a microprocessor," said an inventor, from Quinton, Ala., "so I invented the patent-pending FUSE CADDY SIMULATOR. My design would save the time and expense of blowing many fuses in trying to eliminate the problem."
The invention provides a stand-alone device for connection to a faulted circuit at the point from which a blown fuse has been removed. In doing so, it enables the technician to enter the necessary fuse information into the simulator via the display screen. It also offers a virtual replacement fuse to allow the current to pass and it enables the test to be repeated as needed by a troubleshooter until the fault has been cleared. The invention helps save wasted fuses and trips to the parts store. Additionally, it could help reduce repair time and costs associated with needlessly used fuses and it eliminates the need to carry a large assortment of fuses.
The original design was submitted to the Birmingham sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
