PITTSBURGH, March 6, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- While the process of installing foundation vents has not changed for workers over the years, the brick used in new construction now comes in a queen size. Therefore, an inventor from Bowling Green, Ky., redesigned a vent to accommodate the change in the size of the brick.
He developed a prototype for THOMPSON ALL-PURPOSE FOUNDATION VENT, patent-pending, to ease the installation of foundation vents by eliminating the need to cut the brick to fit the vent. As such, it saves considerable time and effort, which then improves productivity and customer service. It is also convenient, versatile, durable and practical. In addition, its simple design minimizes production costs. It still works with all other brick and 8" x 16" BLK.
The inventor's work experience inspired the idea. "As a brick mason, I have had to cut brick to use existing foundation vents," he said. "Designed for modular brick and 8" x 16" block, they are too small for the larger queen-sized brick used today."
The original design was submitted to the Nashville sales office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
