Introducing Prodigio: The First Smart-Device Operated Nespresso Machine
The Pioneer in Single-Serve Coffee Provides the Perfect Coffee Experience through Bluetooth Smart® Technology
NEW YORK, March 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Nespresso is set to delight coffee aficionados with the introduction of its first-ever smart device-connected coffee machine – Prodigio. The new Prodigio provides consumers dual-functionality – giving them flexibility to brew a cup of exceptional coffee manually with a touch of a button or remotely from the comfort of a couch with integrated Bluetooth® Smart technology. The Prodigio connects directly to the Nespresso smart device app and provides fingertip access to a variety of Nespresso Club Member services. The new technology offers a seamless and convenient coffee experience, connecting Nespresso users to their machines to ensure they never run out of coffee and allowing them to brew their favorite Grand Cru when they want and how they want – all from a compact, stylish, smart and easy-to-use machine that fits perfectly in any kitchen.
Prodigio is meant to simplify life for the user and offers a direct connection to the Nespresso Club Member services via Bluetooth Smart® technology. When logged into the app with their unique Club Membership number, Prodigio users can operate the machine from their smart device and benefit from dedicated services such as:
- Capsule re-order alerts
- Programming the machine to brew when they want
- Simple machine care with maintenance alerts
Available to all Nespresso consumers, the Nespresso Club offers many advantages including access to coffee specialists, machine care, and capsule ordering. Club Members also have exclusive access to special Nespresso offers and news.
"Innovation and convenience are core elements of the Nespresso business so we're delighted to be able to announce the launch of our first connected machine," said Claire Cloatre-Vinzant, Head of Marketing Machines at Nespresso. "We aim to continually surprise and delight our Club Members and Prodigio offers them a unique, integrated way for them to access the Nespresso services."
With an elegant aesthetic and effortless ease-of-use, the Prodigio machine is available in two models, the standard Prodigio and the Prodigio&Milk, which comes integrated with an Aeroccino3 milk frother – making it ideal for those who enjoy their coffee with milk. Both machines come in a sleek Silver or Titan color and brew the full range of 23 Nespresso OriginalLine Grands Crus for satisfying and effortless coffee moments.
Nespresso has long been considered a pioneer in portioned coffee and the launch of the Prodigio machine showcases the brand's commitment to meeting their Club Members' evolving needs. Other features of the machine include:
- Automatic turn off
- De-scaling kit ordering and reminders
- Capsule container full warning
