NEW YORK, Jan. 16, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- New Yorkers pay too much for large, inflexible office and coworking space, according to Prosper Gowork, which opens its first location in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn today (January 16), offering $99 monthly memberships.
Prosper Gowork caters to professionals 'on the go'. It provides small, affordable, conveniently located workspaces ideal for private phone calls, quick meetings and short work sessions.
Founder and president Elena Drakos, of Brooklyn, says her "goworking" model was born out of her own frustrations with traditional offices, noisy coffee shops and big coworking spaces that she says, "aren't a good fit for many of the professionals with successful smaller businesses that I know and work with."
"We offer everything you need, and nothing you don't, which helps keep the price very affordable," Drakos says.
For just $99 per month, Prosper Gowork's members will have 24-hour, seven-day access to a beautifully designed, functional space right off the JMZ subway line (1024 Broadway).
Prosper has its sights set on rapid expansion through Brooklyn by transforming street-level retail sites into comfortable and professional workspaces that will support the city's huge community of freelancers and mobile professionals.
After Drakos' experience using a home office ("too distracting and unprofessional"), a coworking space ("too expensive") and coffee shops ("too busy and noisy"), she found the market needed an affordable, reliable, flexible workspace solution. Drakos worked in sales for over ten years and often struggled to find space professional enough for meetings. After starting her own business, she couldn't find a conveniently located, reasonably priced space that was quiet enough for her to concentrate.
"I'm a business owner and a mom. I have short windows of time to get things done. I don't want to sign a long-term lease for a traditional office, but working from home is distracting and I certainly don't need themed yoga classes and margarita parties. Neither do the mobile professionals I work with," Drakos says.
Prosper Gowork designs its spaces to specifically address these challenges. There are plenty of soundproof phone booths, meeting rooms and quiet reading nooks, as well as collaborative workspaces.
"Our mission is to help mobile professionals be more successful. We want to keep it simple so our members can focus on closing that extra deal, landing that big client, or getting more funding – it's where success happens," Drakos says.
