Intertainment launches "Ortsbo" social media real time universal translator
Ortsbo enables real time conversation translation in over 50 languages with seamless integration to Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, Google Talk and Microsoft Outlook
NEW YORK, SAN MATEO, CA, and TORONTO, July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Intertainment Media Inc. ("Intertainment" or the "Company") (TSXV:INT) is pleased to announce, together with partner Hale Technologies Inc., the launch of Ortsbo ("Ortsbo") the world's first, multi-client, multi-conversation, real time translation platform for social media and email. Available today as a beta client at www.ortsbo.com, it allows people to chat in real time in over 50 instantly translated languages with their friends, colleagues and family using the world's leading social media platforms including Windows Live Messenger, Facebook, Google Talk, and other popular systems reaching over 1 billion people. Ortsbo is also available as an email plug in module for Microsoft Outlook.
Ortsbo for social media is easy to use and free to consumers with revenues generated through sponsorship and advertising activities. To use Ortsbo, a user simply visits www.ortsbo.com and securely logs into their favorite social media platform and Ortsbo instantly displays their friends list. They can then select their home language and a preferred language for each friend. Users can chat back and forth, each using their preferred language, while Ortsbo insures that each is receiving messages in their native tongue. The chat is displayed both in Ortsbo and the friend's social media chat window.
With Ortsbo's plug in email module for Microsoft's Outlook platform, the sender's and recipient's languages are easily selected and both languages are displayed in each email, allowing more in depth language analysis for technical items. The email plug in module is priced at $29.95 US, but a free version is available to users who register with Ortsbo.
For business users, Ortsbo can be licensed and customized for proprietary, secure applications allowing companies, educational institutions and government agencies to converse online and email with their constituents across a multitude of languages. A desktop version for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) will also be available, allowing Ortsbo to ship on new desktop computers, new to market portable Slates and mobile devices using virtual touch keyboards.
Ortsbo will also be integrated in itiBiti, Intertainment's white label desktop application allowing major brands to create instant multiple language engagement programs with their users as soon as they turn on their computers.
"As recently as last week at Microsoft's World Partner Conference in Washington DC, we received significant interest for Ortsbo from federal and state government groups, education organizations, large corporations, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and others, as there is a distinct need to bring the world's languages together in a natural conversational flow using propriety networks and the social media platforms that millions of people use each day," said David Lucatch, CEO of Intertainment Media Inc. "Ortsbo provides an instant universal translation bridge allowing users to interact naturally and effectively in an easy to use environment."
Ortsbo is built using Microsoft's Silverlight platform. Silverlight is a powerful development platform for creating rich media applications and business applications for the Web, desktop, and mobile devices. Ortsbo, available for web and email today, is being enhanced for the desktop, mobile and console devices including Microsoft's Xbox Live.
