Interscope Geffen A&M Partners With StackTek For Official Launch Of Electric Sky
WINE BRAND TARGETED AT MUSIC FESTIVAL-GOERS WILL BE EXCLUSIVE WINE SOLD AT GOVERNORS BALL MUSIC FESTIVAL IN NEW YORK AND BONNAROO IN TENNESSEE
SANTA MONICA, Calif., June 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Interscope Records is pleased to announce its partnership on Electric Sky Wine — a brand new wine aimed at the music-loving, festival-going consumer. The wine comes in four single-serve portions, each individually sealed and delivered in shatter-proof, recyclable plastic.
Electric Sky Wine's Pinot Grigio, Rose, and California Red Blend will be the exclusive wines sold at Governors Ball music festival in New York June 3rd through 5th and Bonnaroo in Tennessee June 10th through the 12th.
To date the wine has been building a word-of-mouth buzz by appearing at tastemaker music-industry events, including recent shows with BØRNS, Jack Garratt, Arty, MGK, and more.
Millennials now make up the number one wine-drinking consumer segment in the United States, a number estimated at over 70 million. As a company that prides itself on being at the forefront of cultural trends, Interscope seeks to serve those consumers in a way that is cutting edge and different. To that end, they have teamed up with StackTek, developers of a patented revolutionary single-serve package. The four 187 ml single serves are designed so that they snap together vertically to form the equivalent of a 750 ml bottle, creating a ready-to-drink wine in the same footprint as a traditional bottle. The packaging enables consumers to enjoy premium-quality wine at home or on the go — making it perfect for consumption at such music festivals as Governors Ball and Bonnaroo.
"750 ml glass bottles at concerts just aren't the most efficient way to serve consumers today," says Daniel Sena, Interscope's head of strategic marketing. "The portability of the stackable packaging allows consumers to take the wine with them and consume it where and when they want. At festivals, this improves upon the antiquated practice of having bartenders uncork a bottle and eyeball a pour, then consumers being forced to navigate big crowds with open containers. Our product solves those problems."
In addition to Electric Sky's unique packaging, the brand has put a heightened emphasis on delivering top-quality wine from sustainable vineyards. "We've searched far and wide to ensure we're delivering the best possible wine to our consumers, while making sure the vineyards we're sourcing from are environmentally responsible," Sena says. Electric Sky's Pinot Grigio comes from the famed Soave growing region in the eastern part of Verona, Italy. The Rosé is sourced from a vineyard located in the Languedoc Roussillon region in the south of France, next to Provence. And the Red Blend will comes from Sonoma, California.
Electric Sky Wine will continue to roll out new varietals in the coming months with the announcements of additional retail and festival launches. For more about Electric Sky Wine, visit: http://www.electricskywine.com/.
