Internet Summit at The Cable Show 2011 Focused on Transition to IPv6
WASHINGTON, May 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The critical global transition to new Internet Protocol (IP) addresses will be the focus of an industry summit at The Cable Show 2011, the 60th annual convention and international exposition of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), June 14-16, 2011, at McCormick Place in Chicago.
To foster understanding and collaboration around the pending "Internet Protocol Version 6" transition (IPv6), The Cable Show 2011 offers an exclusive set of panel sessions and networking opportunities designed to bring together executives and professionals from inside and outside the cable industry.
The IPv6 Summit, sponsored by ARRIS, is the first non-engineering conference following "World IPv6 Day" on June 8, when many major organizations will offer their content over IPv6 for a 24-hour testing period, with the goal of motivating the entire industry – Internet service providers, hardware manufacturers, operating system vendors and web companies – to prepare their services for IPv6 to ensure a successful transition as IPv4 addresses run out.
The IPv6 Summit will feature several panels concentrating on various elements of the transition as well as opportunities to compare notes, both formally and informally, on transition challenges and solutions.
