Internet Storm Center Handlers from Around the World Head to Washington, DC for State of the Internet Panel Discussion to be Held at SANS Security Training Event
BETHESDA, Md., April 26, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced the keynote address at SANSFIRE 2017 taking place in Washington, D.C. July 22 - 29. Internet Storm Center (ISC) handlers from around the world will come together to present the State of the Internet panel discussion. This is a unique opportunity to hear from some of the industry's brightest minds during an intriguing keynote address as ISC handlers provide their opinions and insights into current threats.
According to Dr. Johannes Ullrich, CTO of SANS' Internet Storm Center, "One of the most important criteria for becoming an ISC handler, something that is truly unique, is that they have real jobs running security teams in a wide range of organizations. Because ISC handlers have first-hand experience with problems security professionals face, they are able to share techniques that work in real life to fight these problems. But with the responsibility of a real job, getting many of them together in one place is difficult. SANSFIRE provides a once a year opportunity to meet so many of them, and to hear from them first hand."
SANSFIRE 2017 will feature more than 45 hands-on, immersion-style security training courses taught by real-world practitioners. Courses vary in technical difficulty. Those new to information security will benefit from course such as SEC301: Intro to Information Security, SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style, and SEC440: Critical Security Controls: Planning, Implementing, and Auditing. More seasoned professionals can participate in a variety of technical and management courses including SEC501: Advanced Security Essentials - Enterprise Defender, SEC504: Hacker Tools, Techniques, Exploits, and Incident Handling, FOR585: Advanced Smartphone Forensics, and MGT512: SANS Security Leadership Essentials For Managers with Knowledge Compression™. Many of the courses offered are associated with a GIAC Certification and OnDemand Bundles.
