SinoBBD hosted a launch event in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, China, where it announced the building of "integrated" national data center clusters.
HANGZHOU, China, Nov. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- On the fourth day of the 3rd World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, the organizers brought together a large gathering of industry experts to showcase cutting-edge products and heated moderated discussions. The locale of the event, in China's historical town of Wuzhen, was especially interesting, as it showed how modern technology can complement the traditional, and how the imaginary can supplement reality. During the event, Internet Infrastructure Provider Beijing Big Data Group ("SinoBBD") held a press conference to announce their strategy to build an "integrated" national data center cluster.
At the press conference, SinoBBD CTO Dr. Shuaiyu Wang formally announced the firm's latest strategy and its product portfolio. Dr. Wang talked about "Moore's Law for Big Data" and pointed out that it could be a qualitative change rather than a quantitative one, and that it could profoundly influence the future of the industry. Dr. Wang also presented "Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs for Big Data" as the methodology for research in terms of the processes deployed by big data firms. He said that the data switching of today and artificial intelligence of tomorrow have explicit requirements in terms of an integrated national big data center, where "integration" will be the dominant trend that reshapes the industry over the next five years.
To serve this purpose, SinoBBD plans to focus on the internet data center (IDC), Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Cloud Computing segments. In terms of the IDC segment, SinoBBD plans to develop a global portfolio, which includes a network comprised of distributed clusters of data centers covering the entire globe and all facets of the internet. SinoBBD plans to build a series of high-performance data center cluster in the upcoming five years, totaling 1,350,000 m2 space capable of housing 270,000 server cabinets. As for CDN, the Company plans to deploy more than 1,000 acceleration nodes globally, upgrade the bandwidth to 2TB and provide interconnection between internet operators all over China. SinoBBD will also develop its Cloud Computing business, with the goal of converting current Cloud technology into business profits for its customers. SinoBBD's investments in data centers, CDNs, cloud computing and big data show how separate parts of internet service can be brought together to form a complete digital information industry chain, achieving "integration" in terms of operations and R&D. Execution on this plan is expected to create a leadership role for SinoBBD in the Internet Infrastructure Service Provider space.
