Air Transat to Retrofit 737 Next Generation Fleet
SURREY, BC, Feb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - International Water-Guard Industries Inc. (IWG) announced today that it has entered into a contract with Air Transat for its new Ultraviolet (UV) Water Disinfection and Electronic Water Quantity Preselect System for Commercial Aircraft.
"We are very pleased that Air Transat has agreed to be the first airline to order our UV Water Disinfection and Preselect System for their fleet of 737-NGs," said Darren Waltier, International Water-Guard vice president, sales and marketing, commercial airline programs.
Air Transat is excited about these systems from IWG as the UV protects the health of guests along with reducing the amount of bottled water carried, and the Preselect to gives precision control over the amount of water uploaded, thereby reducing weight and fuel burn.
Description of the product:
The UV Disinfection System which has STCs from Transport Canada and the FAA uses IWG's 30 years of experience in ultraviolet light to disinfect water as it is uploaded into the aircraft. This system ensures total passenger safety by eliminating bacteria and harmful pathogens in the water.
The Preselect system gives the airline total control of the amount of water carried at the touch of a button. The system enables the potable water tank quantity to be set in 5% increments allowing significant weight savings of hundreds of pounds per flight. It also provides data of water usage on each flight for future analysis.
