The highly anticipated New Delhi opening comes just over six months after Johnny Rockets officially announced a franchise agreement with Prime Gourmet Private Limited, a new restaurant company founded by hospitality and finance industry veterans Sachin Goel, Vishal Chaudhry and Gaurav Sharma. With decades of experience between them, the team has paved the way for the eventual roll out of at least twenty additional Johnny Rockets in India over the next few years.
"With an ever-growing population of over 1.2 billion, second only to China, India provides a huge audience in a rapidly expanding consumer market," added John Fuller, CEO of Johnny Rockets. "A younger population, larger disposable incomes, higher rate of urbanization and exposure to western lifestyles are all factors that point to the success of our unique brand in that country."
By opening in a highly trafficked shopping venue in the upmarket residential neighborhood of south Delhi, Johnny Rockets is poised to introduce its signature all-American fare, with multiple veggie patty options, a focus on chicken breast sandwiches and buffalo tenderloin burgers. Boasting the unique flavor of Americana with its upbeat music, friendly service, dancing servers and twirled straws, the restaurant provides an engaging, interactive dining experience that appeals to both local residents and area visitors.
While bringing classic American favorites to India, the menu also boasts a handful of custom items that cater specifically to the country's palate. Named after the iconic Delhi-Amritsar highway, the already-popular NH-1 combines the distinct flavors of roasted cumin, mint mayonnaise and spicy tomato chutney on a chili infused lamb patty. Other items specific to the Select Citywalk menu include Masala Fries, a Tandoori Spiced Chicken Wrap, Paneer Philly Cheesesteak and the Divine Delhi, the restaurant's salute to the robust flavors of the region.
A second New Delhi region location is slated to open in the Ambience Mall, Gurgaon next month with future properties set for Noida, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
