International Medical Corps Joins Netsol Technologies to Ring NASDAQ Closing Bell and Promote Relief Efforts in Pakistan
LOS ANGELES, Oct. 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- International Medical Corps has been invited by Netsol Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: NTWK) (Nasdaq Dubai: NTWK) to ring the NASDAQ Stock Market Closing Bell on October 29, to promote awareness of the humanitarian relief organization's work in Pakistan for survivors of the floods. International Medical Corps' President and CEO Nancy Aossey will preside over the closing bell ceremony with Najeeb Ghauri, Chairman and CEO of Netsol, a U.S. corporation providing global business services and enterprise application solutions to private and public sector organizations worldwide.
"We are tremendously grateful to Najeeb Ghauri and Netsol for asking us to participate in ringing the NASDAQ closing bell and for bringing attention of our lifesaving work to a wider audience," said Aossey. "This visibility will have a tremendously positive impact on our ability to continue delivering vital health care and training to the Pakistani people."
"I am delighted to collaborate with International Medical Corps to promote awareness of the devastating floods in Pakistan and to reach out to all Americans for help in what is one of the worst disasters in Pakistan's history," said Ghauri. "I am also very pleased with the work done by International Medical Corps and hope other non- profit organizations and corporations will lend their resources and donations to rebuild and rehabilitate the millions of affected victims in Pakistan."
Immediately following the floods, International Medical Corps, a nonprofit that has delivered more than $1 billion in lifesaving medical care and training to tens of millions of people across 50 countries, mobilized local staff to provide emergency health services. The organization is currently operating 67 mobile and static medical units throughout the hardest hit areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh provinces. To date, International Medical Corps has conducted approximately 145,000 health consultations and provided psychosocial support sessions for over 5,600 individuals, including children under the age of 12. The organization also is preparing to rehabilitate damaged health facilities and train local health workers to help Pakistan return to self-reliance.
Since its inception more than 25 years ago, International Medical Corps' mission has been consistent: relieve the suffering of those impacted by war, natural disaster, and disease, by delivering vital health care services that focus on training. This approach of helping people help themselves is critical to returning devastated populations to self-reliance. For more information visit: www.InternationalMedicalCorps.org
