International Charity Strengthens Online Brand Marketing with SDL
Web Content Management upgrade increases customer engagement, site traffic and conversion rates
NEW YORK, Oct. 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SDL (LSE: SDL), the leading provider of Global Information Management solutions, announces that Compassion International has launched its new website employing SDL's® Web Content Management solution, SDL Tridion. This move will significantly increase the charity's online presence and enable it to effectively engage with and serve its donors. Compassion is also expecting to dramatically improve the visibility of its child sponsorship offering and additional product lines.
SDL Tridion replaces Compassion's existing content management platform that was struggling to cater for the increasing numbers of online users. SDL Tridion utilizes BluePrinting® technology that allows the charity to synchronize content between multiple websites and easily deploy over 5,000 webpages. Additionally, SDL Tridion's content delivery architecture and hardware updates have already expanded the website's 1,800 user bandwidth to 4,500, almost tripling the number of donors the site can handle globally at any given time.
Since the new site launch, the pages for Compassion's three product offerings - the Child Survival Program, the Leadership Development Program and the Complementary Interventions - have each seen between 50 and 350 percent increase in traffic. The search engine traffic, the number of page views and the conversion rates for the overall site have also increased considerably.
"Finding the right content management tool that would allow a non-technical marketer the freedom to layout pages in an extremely flexible way, while still being a cost-effective tool for our IT team to develop and manage, was crucial for us," said Dustin Hardage, Web and Interactive Director at Compassion International. "SDL Tridion has empowered the marketing and IT departments to manage donor interaction and engagement while ensuring consistency in brand messaging. We're thrilled that this level of control and flexibility is possible."
"Non-profit organizations are facing a particularly tough time in this economy, arguably when they are needed the most. By leveraging a scalable Web Engagement Management system such as SDL Tridion, that meets the ever-changing and growing needs of their online demand, more visitors will be able to have a positive user experience when on the Compassion International site," said Jan Jaap Kolleman, CEO of the Web Content Management Solutions division at SDL. "SDL is honored to partner with Compassion International and support the wonderful work that they're doing."
