Intermediate to Advanced Developers Go Tiki @ TekiCon 2018
Big Nerd Ranch partners with Catamaran Cares to host TekiCon 2018 - a new iOS conference in the Southeast for intermediate to advanced developers. Big Nerd Ranch will offer a one-day bootcamp to all conference attendees while offering a full scholarship to a Women Who Code Atlanta member.
ATLANTA, Feb. 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Big Nerd Ranch is pleased to announce its participation in the first-ever TekiCon, a tiki-themed technology conference hosting intermediate to advanced developers from all over the world. This event will take place March 12-14 at Woodruff Arts Center in Midtown Atlanta.
As a part of their commitment to community involvement, Big Nerd Ranch will be awarding a full-tuition scholarship to one of their iOS bootcamps. To identify a recipient, Big Nerd Ranch partnered with Women Who Code Atlanta whose mission focuses on helping women excel in the technology industry. According to Big Nerd Ranch's CEO Stacy Henry, "Women are one of the least-represented sectors in the developer community. As a long-time advocate of the developer community, we are investing in those who have the desire but may lack the financial resources to participate in additional learning." In addition, Catamaran Cares is donating TekiCon conference tickets to local nonprofit organizations in the Atlanta area.
Big Nerd Ranch will also leverage the TekiCon platform to offer a slightly different model compared to their popular all-inclusive, multi-day bootcamps. While preserving the quality of experience, there will be a focus on offering iOS and UI/UX training to appeal to multiple learning styles. Instructors will carve out critical aspects of their multi-day curriculum and boil it down to a one-day training session. There will be both lectures and hands-on labs where conference attendees will gain access to the instructors, consultants and authors of Big Nerd Ranch.
TekiCon conference fills an important void by offering an iOS-focused event in the Southeast. Identified and managed by Steven Elliott and Jonathan Crockett, Catamaran's founders, TekiCon represents a first step in the journey of building a sustainable event that provides immediate value to its attendees.
