LAS VEGAS, April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Interlogix, a leader in security and life-safety solutions for residential and commercial enterprises, has acquired Ultra High Speed (UHS) from Australian company Hills Limited to broaden its global portfolio of intrusion product offerings and services. Interlogix will preview some of the newly acquired technology at ISC West booth #18019 in Las Vegas, April 2-4. Interlogix is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
UHS is a technology provider of telecommunications infrastructure equipment, Web application servers, modems and customized network management systems. This transaction will broaden and strengthen Interlogix's portfolio of residential and commercial intrusion panels, mobile applications and communication solutions. The portfolio of new products acquired includes communications modules that interact with new and existing Interlogix platforms, as well as technologies that will expand existing service offerings, providing for a robust, interactive backbone for both future and legacy systems.
In the ISC West booth, Interlogix will preview multiple products to demonstrate the capabilities acquired from UHS. Among these are a self-contained panel that includes native Wi-Fi and Z-Wave® to interface with popular lifestyle management devices such as lights, locks and thermostats; new accessories for the NX platform will also be showcased, including a touch-screen module that adds a graphical interface to the control panels; and a modular, hybrid panel that allows features to be added through a unique, DIN-rail mounting system, providing the utmost installation flexibility for system components in both residential and small-to-medium enterprise applications.
Interactive services will utilize native Internet Protocol and embedded Web servers to provide remote programming and mobile applications across product platforms.
