"It is very important for us at Interim HealthCare Inc. to recognize and celebrate the outstanding service provided by our franchisees and their dedicated employees, said Kathleen Gilmartin, CEO of Interim HealthCare Inc. "They truly are the unsung heroes who make a difference in the lives of so many people. It is an honor to recognize their commitment."
One example of an Interim HealthCare professional making a difference is registered nurse, Deb Dowling.
Dowling joined Interim HealthCare's Escondido, California franchise in February 2007 after deciding to pursue her passion of caring for others. Most recently she has been providing assistance for 86-year old Douglass Prince Williams. Williams, a retired UCLA professor in clinical psychology, suffered a pulmonary embolism and was having difficulties walking, which led him to become admitted into a skilled nursing facility for two months.
Having remained independent his entire life, Williams was looking to return home and turned to Interim HealthCare for home healthcare services. Dowling visits Williams twice a week where she provides him with physically therapy, personal care and health monitoring. In the short three months since beginning services with Interim HealthCare, Williams has experienced vast improvement in his health and has already started walking.
"It's very rewarding knowing that you are able to make a difference in the lives of others," said Deb Dowling, Registered Nurse at Interim HealthCare. "It's been a pleasure working with Mr. Williams and we have grown very close in the past several months. Seeing his quick improvement has been very satisfying."
