Intergraph® Donates ERDAS IMAGINE and GeoMedia® Software to USGIF 2012 Scholarship Recipients
25 scholarship recipients receive educational versions of geospatial software and training
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Oct. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Intergraph® Corporation has donated free educational software licenses of ERDAS IMAGINE and GeoMedia® to all 25 recipients of the 2012 United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) scholarship awards.
As part of Intergraph's commitment to education, the donation aims to empower and provide the right tools to the next generation of geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) innovators.

In addition to receiving the software licenses, the students will receive eight hours of free instructor-led online training that introduces them to GeoMedia and ERDAS IMAGINE. Both training sessions will provide the foundational knowledge, hands-on training and terminology that will allow the students to effectively use these tools for their study, as well as offers the insights for embracing these solutions after graduation.
Intergraph is a sustaining member of USGIF, and is actively involved in the USGIF Scholarship Committee. The announcement of the donation coincides with the GEOINT 2012 Symposium, which is the nation's largest intelligence event taking place in Orlando, Florida this week. Intergraph will be available at booth #1121.
The USGIF Scholarship Program has awarded a total of $584,000 in scholarships since 2004. This year, a total of $104,000 was awarded to 25 recipients from the doctoral level to high school students.
