FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a recent independent survey from SAE International, manufacturers with high-end advanced technologies should consider quality independent distributors such as Intercomp USA. The study titled "2015 Global Electronic Components Report," proves that to effectively introduce products into the engineering community, companies within the aerospace, military, automotive and medical device industries would benefit from Intercomp's "Delivering Beyond Franchise Distribution Program."

The report explores how the market perceives the largest franchise distributors, what customers are shopping for and from whom, and where OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) go when they are not able to locate a component part.
This study is the result of a survey of 30,000 members from SAE International's Global Database. It proves that being an independent distributor with a stellar performance for consistently delivering high-quality electronics and enterprise-computing solutions that include active and passive silicon applications and components ranging from connectors and integrated circuits to sensors and biometric devices, is what sets Intercomp apart in a global marketplace.
According to research, the criteria that customers have been searching for includes VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) product design services as well as quality and inventory management capabilities supported by a team of resourceful engineering staff and product specialists.
"In addition to our long standing ability of making available the highest quality components, we're able to co-develop and reverse engineer in-production products to help customers reduce costs and streamline supply chain challenges," said David Sepanik, Director of Engineering and Supply Chain. "We are distributors of choice for many companies who want to access global markets not only in North America, but especially in Europe, Middle East, South America and South Africa."
Some of the key findings of the research are:
- 65 percent of global respondents say that the most important certification when working with a supplier is ISO 9001. Intercomp has taken it several steps further and received ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS9120 stringent certification approvals due to its focus on selling high quality and fully traceable component parts
- Half of global consumers say that they measure performance by quality, while 24 percent say on-time delivery is of importance when choosing a supplier
- 50 percent of those surveyed say product quality is one of the main challenges when purchasing electronic components, while 47 percent say it is availability and 46 percent say that it is pricing terms.
Findings also reveal that engineering services drives manufacturers across the world to come to Intercomp, while value analysis, value engineering and in-production hard-to-find obsolete parts are of relevance to one-third of all participants surveyed.
These findings are consistent with how Intercomp is able to collaborate with demanding customer requirements to reduce component costs and complexity, engineer product innovations, accelerate product development, and plan for obsolete parts to mitigate production risks. That's the notion of Intercomp's "Delivering Beyond Components" philosophy.
